Who we are

Benzinwerks is founded by three friends — Albert, Felix and Vlad — united by a lifelong passion for cars and, in particular, historic vehicles. For many years, the idea lived quietly in the back of our minds: a workshop built not only for craftsmanship and precision, but for warmth, conversation, heritage and belonging.

We didn’t want to create just another automotive service.
We wanted a home for enthusiasts.

A clean, carefully designed and fully equipped space where we would feel confident working on our own vehicles — and where collectors, drivers and friends would feel equally welcome. A place where attention to detail matters as much as the stories behind each car. Where heritage is respected, originality preserved, and every vehicle receives the care it truly deserves.

So Benzinwerks became the place for classic and heritage cars — intimate, professional, technically disciplined, yet relaxed, human and passion-driven. A space where you can enjoy a coffee, talk about engineering, history, motorsport or design… and know that your car is in safe, knowledgeable hands.

Our philosophy embraces authenticity first, but also the reality that cars are meant to be driven. Alongside historically correct restoration and preservation, we also support period-correct modifications and tasteful restomod projects, executed with respect for originality and character — where modern usability meets classic soul.

Our world is deeply connected to the Romanian and international collector community, with strong ties across historic motorsport, FIVA heritage principles, Retromobil Club Romania, the Romanian Motorsport Federation and enthusiast groups and communities alike. We believe in sharing knowledge, supporting the culture of preservation, and building a respectful community around meaningful cars.

Because for us, these cars are not just machines.
They are stories, memory, craftsmanship — and they deserve to live on.

Powered by Heritage. Built for Tomorrow.

The People Behind Benzinwerks

Albert — Detailing & Preservation Specialist

Albert discovered his passion for detailing while restoring his 1985 Jaguar XJ, a project that sparked a deep appreciation for originality and period-correct craftsmanship. His work on the car led him to the 2023 Sinaia Concours d’Elegance, where the Jaguar won Post-War Sedan Class. Furthermore, Albert has also prepared and worked on a 1932 Fiat 508 Balilla that won Pre-War Cabriolet Class.

Today, Albert brings the same artistic care to every vehicle at Benzinwerks. Beside the concours spec Jaguar, he owns and cherishes a high mileage Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3, and beyond cars, he is passionate about cinematographyanalog photography, specialty coffee and playing guitar. He remains actively involved in the historic vehicle community, helping organize events and documenting heritage automobiles through his lens.

For Albert, detailing is not cosmetic — it is preservation.

Vlad — Historic Motorsport & Community Relations

Vlad’s journey began in childhood karting and evolved into a deep fascination with classic and competition automobiles. In 2014, while still a student, he bought and restored his first historic car — a Dacia 1410 Sport — which opened the door to the Retromobil community and later to historic motorsport.

From regularity rallies and circuit events, Vlad eventually transitioned into historic racing, competing behind the wheel of both Dacia 1300 and later Ford Escort Mk2 RS2000 race cars. His passion leans strongly toward historically significant drivers’ cars — particularly BMW heritage models such as the E21, Z3, and E46.

With more than 8 years of involvement in Retromobil Club Romania, Vlad has supported event organization, community relations and heritage initiatives. His background includes Business Management studies in Vienna and over 10 years’ experience in financial consulting— experience he now channels fully into shaping the future of Benzinwerks.

For Vlad, Benzinwerks is where passion meets discipline — and where heritage continues through driving.
